Silver souvenirs from Barcelona
Sea, culture, beauty and history. Barcelona is a city full of art and creativity. The catalan capital has celebrated these days “La Mercè”, a traditional festival. That’s why today we present you some silver souvenirs of its emblematic buildings and customs.
La Sagrada Família
One of the most representative icons from Barcelona located in the heart of the city. It was designed by the highest representative of Catalan Modernism, Antoni Gaudí. The construction began in 1882 and, since the outset, it has been built from donations. “The expiatory church of La Sagrada Família is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people”, said the architect.
Located on Passeig de Gràcia, this building is one of the most emblematic work of Antoni Gaudí. It was built between 1904 and 1906 having been commissioned by the textile industralist Josep Batlló. The catalan architect gave Casa Batlló an original, fantastical and full of imagination facade made by stone and glass. It’s a bulding full of color and light.
La Pedrera or Casa Milà
Declared UNESCO World Heritage, this unusual building was constructed between 1906 and 1912 by Antoni Gaudí. Casa Milà, popularly known as ‘La Pedrera’, is one of the most famous buildings of the Modernista or Catalan Art Nouveau period.
This is the popular dance from Catalonia. Performed by groups, holding hands, and in circle.
